Teen Wolf

Hi there. So I finally got around to watching the last two episodes of Teen Wolf season two and it was amazing! I've loved Teen Wolf from when it first came out last year but I just never got around to watching the final two episodes but I'm so glad that I did.
For those who don't know, Teen Wolf is about a teenage boy, Scott, who gets turned into a werewolf and there's a new girl in school that he falls in love with which sounds really boring but it's actually so good. In the first season we don't know who bit Scott, turning him into a werewolf and he joins forces with another werewolf, Derek, to find out who turned him because the Alpha who did is very bad. I much preferred the second season as it's much more thrilling. Loads of things happen and it's find of hard to explain and I really don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it but I will just say there is much more action and surprises in the second season.
As for characters, they're all brilliant and they're all extremely good looking. From watching both seasons I will talk about who I like and don't like but you obviously need to watch them to know who I'm talking about. Also, some of the characters I'll talk about aren't in the first season, so if you're watching it and are thinking ''who is she on about?'' you'll have to watch both seasons.
I'm going to start off by saying my favourite werewolf isn't Scott or Derek, it's Isaac who is only introduced in the second season, I think. I don't know what it is about him that I like, he just seems really innocent and his life before werewolf-hood just makes you want to hug him. It seems like he just wants to do the right thing and he's very handsome as well. I also love Stiles, but he's not a werewolf. He's just the perfect best friend. He'll do anything to help Scott and he's so funny. He comes out with the greatest things, funny and sweet.
The next thing may shock some people who've watched it but after the second season, I hate Allison so much. I do admit, I did love her in the first season and in most of the second but just the end of season two made me hate her! I'm not going to say why because I don't want to ruin it but ahhhhhhhhh!!!! So much hate.  Crystal Reed who plays Allison is absolutally stunning. She's so pretty and her makeup is always perfect in this, same as her hair and she dresses so nice and I love her face and stuff but I hate her character.
Anyway, I think Teen Wolf is such a great TV program and everyone should watch it, whether you watch it for the thrill, the amazing clothes, the cute teen love stuff or just the beautiful actors. It's a show I highly recommend to everyone and I hope you enjoy it if you do start watching it. Also, I know I didn't really talk about the relationships and young love and all that stuff but that's not really what I watch it for but if you're into dramatic teenage relationships then this is the show for you. Thanks for reading :)

Angela's Ashes

Hi there. The last post I wrote was a movie review and in this post I'm going to do something a bit different. I don't think I've ever seen a book review on a blog and I just finished reading Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt and I really enjoyed it and thought I'd review it, as you do.
I'm not a huge reader as I find it really hard to find books that I really like but in my school we get a book list in Transition Year. I think the book list is a great idea, we are given a few pages of books and authors and we have to read at least two fiction and one non-fiction books from the list and then we have to review them. The teachers in my school pick the books and they do pick a good range. I quite like books that have a historical background but aren't exactly history books, if that makes sense. Angela's Ashes is about Frank McCourt's childhood and how he grew up in terrible poverty in Co. Limerick.
The book starts by saying how McCourt's family first lived in America and then moved to Ireland to try to get away from the poverty they were living in to only find themselves in worse conditions. The beginning of the book is very sad but once you get past that, the book is very interesting. It really shows you how people lived in these desperate times and how they were lucky if they got a slice of bread for dinner. The book describes how McCourt grew up, it starts from before he was born to when he's 20. When he's describing his childhood he really shows how a child's mind works and develops which is also very interesting.
Overall, I think the book is great and I recommend it, mainly to teenagers as it really describes stuff that we don't learn in history class. It's so interesting and it keeps you wanting to read on. If you're in Transition Year and you don't know what books to choose from the book list you should defiantly check this book out. Thanks for reading :)

Skyfall

Hi there. Today I finally went to see the new James Bond movie and oh my, it was incredible! It was just perfect, everything was done so well. Don't worry, I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. I've never done a movie review before and I'll hopefully do more as I have no social life so I spend a lot of time watching movies. I'm going to split the review into three sections, cast, story and clothes/hair/makeup.
The cast did a marvelous job and they all played their parts so well. I've only seen Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan play James Bond so I don't think I can call myself a Bond fan but I am a Daniel Craig fan and I think he does an amazing job at playing James Bond. Craig really gives the Bond character a bit of a dark side which really shows through in this movie. I think Craig really shows that Bond is only human like all of us and that it's okay if we all get hurt sometimes, both physically and mentally. I think Javier Bardem played the villain (Silva) excellently. I much prefer when the villain is a bit mental, it just makes the character much more interesting and it makes everything more exciting, Bardem did a brilliant job. Judy Dench obviously does an amazing job at playing M or she wouldn't have been playing her for the past 17 years. Naomie Harris (Eve) and Bérénice Marlohe (Sévérine) are two stunning girls in the movie. They both play very different characters but play them both so beautifully. Ben Whishaw plays the extremely cute Q. He brings so much youth to the movie but he also brings so much intelligence as he is the brain in the movie. I think the cast was picked so brilliantly and everyone did such an amazing job.
The story to this Bond movie is so dramatic and exciting. I think this movie shows us more of James Bond as a person and it focuses a lot on his character instead of his amazing ass-kicking skills. Don't worry, there is still has a hell of a lot of action but it has a perfect balance between the drama and the action. It really does keep you excited all the way through the movie. I was not expecting it to end the way it did, at all. It was a nice ending just very unpredictable.
When you think of James Bond you probably think of handsome men in amazing suits but there are also beautiful women with gorgeous dresses and amazing makeup. Bérénice Marlohe is who I'm going to talk about makeup, clothes and hair wise. My favourite one of her outfit was the backless, black dress she wore. It had a beautiful design and she pulled it off so well. I also loved her makeup in this scene. She had quite a dramatic smokey eye with a deep lip which I adored. Marlohe has the most amazing hair. When we first see her she has her hair down and it's long and wavy. Then, when she is wearing the backless dress she has her hair pinned up into a faux bob which she wore incredibly well and it showed off the design on the back of the dress beautifully. I can't talk about the clothes in Skyfall and not mention James Bond's amazing suits. Who doesn't love a man in a suit, especially when it's Daniel Craig.
Overall, I think Skyfall is an amazing movie and it's my favourite of the Daniel Craig Bond movies. If you're planning on going to the cinema this is definitely a movie everyone should see. Thanks for reading :)

Transition Year

Hi there. As you may or may not know, I'm currently in transition year (TY) in school. For you that don't know it's a very exciting year. In my school we change form classes, have the fashion show and the play and we also do exciting modules like theatre makeup and crime studies. Some school don't have TY, which is frightening to think that some people have to finish their Junior Cert and then go straight into the Leaving Cert course. Most people who haven't done or aren't doing TY think it's a lazy/doss year and maybe it is in other school but in my school it most certainly is not!
Coming back to school this year was sort of like starting school again as we had a new class to get to know and our school got a new building so we had to find our way around. TY is quite stressful, most people are probably thinking ''How can a year of doing nothing be stressful?'' and I will explain to now. Firstly, we were seated in our English classes and told ''you have a few weeks to produce a Shakespeare play and you have to preform it in front of all the TY students''. This seemed like an easy enough task until we started working on it. My friend, Rachel, and I volunteered to be project managers for our class play so we had to sort out everything. We had to give everyone a job, then we had to make sure everyone did their job. My class is a pretty great class so we all did our parts and our play turned out great. It was hard work and our teacher freaking us out didn't help but we did it!
There is also the fashion show and the play to get stressed over. I'm working on the costumes and the makeup for the play so we're not really doing much now as the fashion show is in about 2 weeks so they have to get that finished. I'm not a part of the fashion show but most of my friends are. One of my friends is a model and one's a dancer and Rachel, who was a project manager with me, is a model coordinator and she's pretty stressed. She has a pretty important job, I don't know exactly what she has to do because I haven't asked her since she's so busy and stressed out with all the work she has to do. I'm sure the fashion show will be amazing and I'm so excited to see everyone's hard work in action.
This post makes it sound like I'm not enjoying TY but I really am, I've become friends with so many new people that I'd never really talked to before and I get to do some really interesting classes. The teachers also treat you with more respect now that you're a senior which I really like. Over all I think that if you haven't done TY yet and you have the choice you should definitely do it as you'll learn so much about yourself and it's a great experience. I know that it's only mid November but I really feel that the year can only get better and I hope it does. Thanks for reading :)

Titanic Belfast

Hi there. So on Friday I went to the Titanic Experience in Belfast. Being a history nerd I found it very interesting and I highly recommend it to all.
When we first got there we got our tickets and then went for some lunch as we had some time to kill before it was time for us to start the tour. The food was alright but I've had better. After lunch we went to the shop to buy some memorabilia, I got a pencil sharpener because I badly needed one but there was so much stuff to choose from. There were replicas of the blue, heart necklaces from the 1997 Titanic movie, mugs, book marks, badges and loads more.
The time came for us to start the tour so we got in the queue and got out our tickets. We went up the stairs to the first floor where it had pictures and facts on the wall about people involved in the building of the Titanic, so we walked around and looked at all of that. Then, we were ready to go to the next part of the tour which was my favourite part. We had to wait in another queue, but this line lead us to lifts which brought us up to a balcony kind of level which, apparently, stood at 70 ft. Next for the exciting part, this part of the tour consisted of a 6 minute ride which lifted you up and down to show you how the Titanic was made. They had videos projected on the walls and a voice over explaining everything you were seeing. When the ride was over there was another area with facts and pictures on the wall. My second favourite part of the tour was when we were seated in a room to watch a short movie which was an exploration of the Titanic, itself. It went over the whole ship and explained everything you could see. When the movie was over we walked down the stairs where there were screens all around the room and a glass floor. As you step on the glass floor and look down there's screens underneath giving a birds eye view of the Titanic which was amazing but it felt so weird. The screens around the room were touch screens that had pictures of items found around the boat so you can see where it was found and it said what the items were. The last part of the tour was a room that had information on the sinking of the ship. It had facts on people who died and it had voice overs of people who had survived and what it was like while it was sinking. Then, when we were finished we exchanged our tickets for ones that look like the ones people in first class would have used to board the Titanic back in 1912.
Overall, I enjoyed the Titanic Experience and it think it's something everyone should check out whether they're a history nerd or not. Thanks for reading :)
