Winter Essentials!

As winter is now upon us and I can't think of anything else to write about, I thought it would be a good idea to share some things I feel are essential for the winter months. This post isn't going to just be makeup or beauty products, it will include anything I think everyone should have for winter! Lets get straight into it!

Zombie Makeup Tutorial!

I am so excited to be doing this blog post! Halloween is one of my favourite holidays and it's in 3 days ahh!! As you can tell from the title this is a makeup tutorial and I'm no expert when it comes to makeup but in transition year, which I wrote a blog post about that you can read here, I did a theater makeup class which taught me how to do special effects looks and at the end of the class we had to do a project. In the project we had to include a 'character at home' which is when you do your own look and explain how you did it. I did this zombie look on my little sister and these are the pictures from my project. My sister wanted me recreate the look on Halloween and on the last day of school because on the last day before mid-term the students get to dress up. My mam and sister were telling me that people were coming up to them asking was my sister going to be a zombie again this year and that they hoped she wasn't because she was really scary! I was thinking that because people remember this look a year later it must be pretty good and I decide to share how I did it because it was really easy but really effective, so here it is.

Top 5 Make Up Products!

Lately I've had no inspiration at all for a blog post and the other day I was on YouTube, as usual, and a video I came across was a Top 5 Make Up Products and I thought to myself I wear make up and a good bit of it so I could do this, and that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm obviously no expert when it comes to make up, I've learned all I know from watching YouTube videos and lots of them. I'm just going to give my opinion of these products and just because a product might work one way on me doesn't mean it will definitely work the same way on you but it may be worth a try!

How To Make ICED MOCHAS!!

Hello m'dears! I am very excited to be writing this post because if you read my July Favourites, which you can read here, you will know that I absolutally love McDonald's Iced Mochas! They are probably my favourite drink ever, for someone who hates coffee I'm obsessed with these! Recently in school loads of people have been drinking hot mochas so I decided to try and master the art of making an iced mocha! I'm drinking mine as I type this and I'm so happy with the result of my little experiment that I felt I should share it with the world, or at least the few people that read my blog... Anyway, on to the mochas!

My Top 5 Favourite Albums!

Hi there, I've been thinking since I write post on most of the concerts I go to that I might as well share my top 5 favourite albums of all time! If you don't like the same kinda music as me you could keep an open mind and maybe discover a love for some new music. These aren't going to be in any order just whichever one I think of next, and if you enjoy this post then you could suggest some more things I could write a favourites post on. Anyway, on to the music!

PARAMORE! 2.9.13

Wow, wow. Just wow! I went to see Pararmore in the O2 Arena, Dublin on Monday and oh my God, it was brilliant! I mentioned that I was loving their new album in my May Favourites which you can read here, so I was super excited to see them live, again. I've seen Paramore live 4 times now and they just get better every single time.
Paramore shows always have an electric atmosphere at them because they're such an energetic band and I think most bands feed off the crowd's energy when they play so the electricity bounces off everyone and just gets everyone moving. The thing I love most about Paramore is Hayley's voice, and I know how important the instruments are to a band and how it takes a group of people to form a band but Hayley's voice is just so strong and there's just something about it, she can use her voice really lightly in some songs that could bring you to tears but also use it very heavily which would have the completely opposite affect. And the fact that she can jump around a stage for nearly 2 hours and still have the breathe in her to sing with such force is rather impressive! Of course the other band members, Jeremy and Taylor, are very important as well. As a team they just work so well together to produce this amazing music that they can perform to perfection, without a doubt.

Hail to the King!

Hello there! As some of you may know, I'm a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan and they've recently released their new album, "Hail to the King", which was very exciting for fans since the band hadn't released a new album since "Nightmare" which they released in July, 2010! I was so happy when I finally got my hands on a copy of the album, I've been a fan of the band since I was 11 so when you've been a fan for that long it's always exciting to hear new material.

Grown Ups 2 Review!

Bonjour! This summer has been rather good for new movies and one of my favourites is Grown Ups 2. I'm a huge fan of the first Grown Ups movie, I've watched it so many times but it's one of those movies that I can watch again and again and it still makes me laugh, so I was so excited when I found out there was going to be a second movie. I think all the actors in the movie seem to work so well together and it's a movie I would recommend for anyone because it'll make little kids laugh with it's silliness but it also has a lot of jokes for the older views so it's great for all ages.
I feel that you have to watch the first movie to get some of the jokes in the second one, which isn't too bad if you haven't seen the first one because then you get to watch two incredibly funny movies! I find it really hard to do movie reviews and without spoiling it which is why my movie reviews aren't the best, but I can say that Adam Samberg makes a sneaky appearance in the movie and his scene is probably one of the best which is all I can say without ruining it. Another thing I love about this movie is that all the characters in the first movie are played by the same actors in the second one, which sounds stupid but it sort of annoys me when different actors play the character in each movie so that little thing made me enjoy the movie that little bit more, so if you've seen the first Grown Ups and liked all the characters and actors then you're bound to like Grown Ups 2! Also, both of these movies are set during the summer so they're great summer time movies that you could relax and watch after a long day to finish off a nice summer day.
Like I said, I can't really say much about this movie without ruining it other then it's an amazingly hilarious movie that I think everyone will enjoy! It has a great cast and jokes throughout the movie for the whole family so get yourself to the nearest cinema to see this movie if you haven't already and hopefully you'll thank me! As always, I hope you've found this blog post helpful and if you have any suggestions, questions or advice leave me a comment or contact me on any of my accounts that are always on the right hand side of my blog. Thanks for reading :)

July Favourites 2013

Yes people, it is that time again. It's a new month which means it's time for another monthly favourites, woo! This months favourites is a bit random so I'm just going to get straight into it.
The first thing on my list of things that I've been loving throughout July is a book, which might be surprising for those who know me because I don't read much. I'm going to be honest, I haven't actually finished this book yet but I only have about a chapter left. It's "I Was a Boy in Belsen" by Tomi Reichental and I got this book by the author who is a survivor of the holocaust and he visited our school to talk to the history students about his story of surviving the holocaust and what it was like for a Jewish person living during World War II. The book not only talks about what it was like for him during the holocaust but also how some of his family survived. I found the book so interesting but it was also really sad to see so many people being treat so badly, but I think everyone should read it so Tomi's story can be shared around the world.
If any of you follow me on Twitter, which you can do here, you'll know that I've been absolutally obsessed with Bondi Rescue lately. For any of you that don't know, it's a TV show about Australian lifeguards that work on Bondi Beach. I think it's so interesting to see how professional lifeguards work and save people's lives on a daily basis, and not only are the lifeguards extremely good looking but they are also really funny so you can get a good laugh watching this. For anyone wondering, I love all the lifeguards but my absolute favourites have to be Mouse or Chappo.
The next thing I've been loving is probably the most random, it's McDonald's Iced Mochas and oh dear lord are they delicious. They're practically chocolate milk mixed with coffee with crushed ice and cream on top and they're amazing, I could live on them. They're my favourite drink of all time, ever!
Since the weather was really nice in Ireland recently and it was really hot, it does make you sweat whether you like it or not, so a product I've been loving has been the Sure Long Lasting Protection Deodorant. They stop you sweating, obviously but the thing I love most is they have a range of loads of different smells and they all smell really nice and the smell stays on your skin so you don't have to keep spraying it on you throughout the day.
Another product I've been loving is a really cheap lip gloss by Natural Collection. It's one of their Juicy Lips in "Raspberry Ripple". It's a nice light pink colour with a bit of shimmer and I robbed this lip gloss from my mam because she didn't like how the glitter felt on her lips but I don't mind it. My favourite thing about this lip gloss is that it smells amazing, it smells really fruity and just really nice.
I'm not one to use fake lashes because I was blessed with lashes that I'm happy with but I was at a party the other day and decided I would try some. I bought some iEnvy by Kiss ones in Pennys/Primark, they were the "Au Naturable 01" ones and people said they couldn't tell I had lashes on. I was really surprised with how well they stayed on throughout the night because they were quite cheap but they didn't move at all and I kept touching my eyes so I thought they were really good!
The last few products in my July Favourites are all hair products. The first is a dry shampoo, it's the Batiste Dry Shampoo in "Cool and Crisp Fresh" which smells really nice and makes my hair feel really clean and fresh if I don't have the time to wash my hair in the shower. I'm not saying I don't shower and just use this, I shower very often but sometimes my hair just feels a bit icky so this product just gives my hair the lift it needs.
The last two products are from the same range, they're from the Trevor Sorbie "Beautifully Straightened" range. My favourite products from the range are the "Protect, Flatten and Shine Spray" and the "Lightweight Serum" which I use before I straighten my hair with a straightener. They protect you're hair when you use a straightener and it keeps your hair super straight until you curl it, or wash it. It also makes your hair very shiny which is always nice.
We're finished, yay! So they're all the things that I loved all throughout July and that I will probably love for a very long time to come because they're all fabulous. Hopefully this post will, maybe, introduce you to some new things that you will grow to love as much as me and if you have any suggestions of thing you think I should try then feel free to leave a comment or contact me in any way, all my links are always on the side of my blog. And if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, I'd be more then happy to help. As always, thanks for reading :)

Naked Palette!

I'm probably the worst blogger in the world, I haven't written a blog post in nearly 2 months and I'm really sorry but it's not like my posts are in high demand or anything. I've been finding it really hard to think of things to blog about because I haven't bought any new products or seen any new movies or anything so that's one reason for being absent, the other being I've just sort of forgotten that I had a blog *awkward*. I was thinking of doing a summer essentials post but I don't really have any products that I've found essential during summer other then sun cream but I've been using the Urban Decay Naked Palette a good bit so I'm going to share my thoughts and some of the looks I like to do with it, so let's crack on!
I don't think I've ever heard anything bad said about the Naked Palette, and I know a lot of people have it. It's just such a great palette to have in your make up collection. It has 12 different eye shadows in the palette ranging from light to dark colours. Most of the eye shadows are shimmery but they're are two matte colours in the palette and they're both  really nice browns. All the eye shadows have great pigmentation and are really good quality and they all go really well together so you can create so many different looks with this palette from everyday neutral looks to very dramatic night time looks and everything in between. When you buy the palette it comes with a brush and a little Urban Decay Primer Potion which I think is amazing, I get very oily lids and if I don't use a base or a primer the eye shadow creases after about 5 minutes and the Primer Potion makes my eye shadow last all day and it doesn't move at all! I can't remember exactly how much the palette cost when I bought it but it wasn't any more then €50 which is quite a good price when you think about how many eye shadows you're getting and how good quality they are. So I think the Naked Palette is something everyone should have in their makeup collection.
The only bad thing about the Naked Palette is that there are so many different colours and looks to pick from that sometimes I get overwhelmed and can't choose what makeup to do! All the looks I create with the palette are pretty simple but look really nice, all the colours compliment each other really well to create really nice combinations of colours that make the eyes stand out and looks really nice. Before I create any makeup look I put a little bit of the Primer Potion over my lid and blend it out with my finger, then I wait a minute for it to set before starting with the eye shadow. When using the Primer Potion you only need a tiny bit because it blend out really well so a little goes a long way. If I'm in a huge rush I will literally just but "Sin" all over my lid and just blend it out with a bit of 'Naked" then line my lash line with some gel eyeliner and add loads of mascara which I do with most of these looks. If I've got time I like to brush "Sin" all over the lid, then add some "Dark Horse" to the outer corner and blend it out and into the crease a bit then I'll place some "Creep" on the very outer corner and blend that out as well. "Virgin" is a really great highlight colour so I'll place that in the inner corner of my eye and maybe on the brow bone. For a really dramatic look, I like to use "Hustle" and place that all over the eye and blend it out really well, then I'll use a little bit of "Creep" in the outer corner and blend that like crazy as well. I like to get a little bit of "Naked" on a blending brush and blend out the edges of my eye shadow to make sure that it's blended really well because I don't think it looks good at all when there are just harsh lines in a makeup look, I think it looks so much more put together and neater when the edges are blended really well. So they're three looks I like to create with the Naked Palette but, like I said, you can make so many different looks with this palette and if you're like me and get overwhelmed and don't know what kind of looks to make there are so many good tutorials on YouTube, so if you click here it will link you to loads of great tutorials using the Naked Palette.
So that's my thoughts on the Urban Decay Naked Palette, I hope that helped you in one way or another. If you have any suggestions of other blog posts you'd like me to do or if you have any questions about any of the posts I've written then  feel free to leave comments on any of the posts or contact me on any of my social network pages which are always linked on the side of my blog. I'm really going to try to keep up with my blog posts from now on. If you could please follow my blog, it will only take a minute and it would mean so much to me. As always thank you so much for reading and I hope everyone has a lovely summer :)

May Favourites 2013

My Lord, I haven't written a blog post in over a month and I'm very sorry for that, not that anyone really cares but ah well. It is now the month of June meaning May is over, duh!  My March Favourites post seemed to go down well so I've decided to do another one. Just like my March Favourites, this will be everything I've been loving thought May including music, movies, ect.
So the first product that I loved throughout May is the Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation. When I first started using this foundation I didn't really like it but now I just love how it makes my skin look and how it feels on my skin. It has quite a good coverage and it has a matte finished, which I like but it does have it's down sides. It clings to dry skin and if your skin is very oily it will come off after a while. It also smells a bit weird but you can only smell it when you first put it on so that's not too bad. Another thing I love about this foundation is that it had SPF 10 in it which is very handy because it is now summer and the sun has actually been out, even though it's Ireland and I hate using sun cream so that's a bonus.
Another product I've been loving is a hair product, it's the Pantene Pro V Mousse. I have quite long hair and it's not incredibly thick but there is a lot of it so the weight of all the hair drags so I never had volume in my hair until I started using this mousse. I put it in my hair after I've washed my hair and it's still damp. It doesn't put loads of volume in my hair but it definitely makes a difference, if I don't use it my hair is just limp and lifeless so I've really been loving this product.
The next thing is something that I got for Christmas that I just hadn't used yet. It's Lush Shower Gel in Ponche, but I'm pretty sure it's limited edition and you can only get it around Christmas time which sucks. It contains orange juice and a shot of tequila, and it smells absolutally amazing and the smells stays, so even after a while you can still smell it! I got a small bottle, but it lasts a surprisingly long time which is always good. So if you happen to be in a Lush shop near Christmas I highly recommend you pick up a bottle and just smell it!
This next thing I've been loving is a curling iron. It's the Remington Pro Big Curl Tong, which is just a big, wide barrel curling iron. It heats up quite fast and it has a clasp to close the hair under which I find really handy. It does take a few tries to get the hang of using it if you're not used to using curling irons, which I'm not and I have burnt my neck with it because I'm so skilled... It just gives my hair a nice, bouncy wave and it gives my hair volume which I just love.
Music I've been loving is the new Paramore album. I love Paramore and I have for years, and I'm going to see them when they come to Dublin in September and I'm really looking forward to it. Their new album is just such a feel good album, the songs are all so catchy. It's just a really good album that I will be listening to all through summer.
A movie I've been loving is "That's My Boy" which was released last year but I only watched it recently. Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg star in this movie and it's just such a funny movie and it's on Sky Demand at the moment, so I recommend you check it out.
So there is all the things I've been loving throughout the month of May, and I hope you've, maybe, found some things that you will enjoy just as much as I have. If you have any products that you think I should try out, you can always leave suggestions and recommendations in the comment to the blog posts, and if you have any questions about any products or about anything, you can leave them in the comments and I'd be more then happy to answer them. As always, thanks to all the support from everyone and I will not leave it a month until my next blog post. And good luck to anyone doing exams, you'll do great! Thanks for reading :)

Iron Man 3!

Bonjour! I just realised that I haven't written a blog post in ages, but lucky for you I went to see Iron Man 3 on Sunday and it was so amazing that I'm going to write a review of it, yay! I love all the Avengers superheros so I was so excited when this movie came out. I went to see it in 3D and it was so amazing!
I think everyone can agree when I say that the Avengers would be nothing without Iron Man/Tony Stark. What I love about the Iron Man movies are they are so full of action yet they are so funny as well, and Iron Man 3 was no exception. It's my favourite out of all the Iron Man movies and it's, by far, the funniest! There were a good few unexpected moments in the movie, which is always good because a movie can be rather boring when you can predict what's going to happen so that was something I liked about this movie. Like all superhero movies, there was a lot of action and thrill and amazing ass kicking. I don't want to give any of the movie away so I can't go into a lot of detail but it was just brilliant!
The cast is, also, amazing! I can't think of anyone who would do a better job at playing Tony Stark than Robert Downey Jr., he's just the perfect person for the job. He just makes the movie so funny and he is so very handsome. Gwyneth Paltrow was, also, perfect in the role as Pepper Potts. She's so badass and beautiful and she plays the role really well. My favourite out of the whole cast was probably Ben Kingsley as, the bady, The Mandarin! He was so fantastic in this movie, I love the character so much, he was just perfection which sounds weird since he's the bad guy but I just love him, haha.
I know this has nothing to do with the movie but since the review was kinda short, I might as well do an OOTD of what I wore to the cinema. I just wore black leggings with denim shorts and my aztec print converse but the best thing about my outfit was my gorgeous stripped oversized jumper from boohoo.com. It's orange, green, yellow and cream stripped and it's so soft and loose, I love it.
I know this isn't a very good review but it's really hard to talk about a movie and not ruin it for those who haven't seen it, but it is a movie that I recommend everyone goes to see because it is just so good. I would gladly pay to go see it a million more times, it was that good! Hopefully I'll get better at doing movie reviews in the future but thanks for reading :)

March Favourites 2013

Bonjour. I've never done a monthly favourites post before and I really enjoy seeing what products and things other people have been liking so I thought I'd share mine with you. I'm not only going to talk about all the beauty products I've been liking over the past month but also songs and movies, everything I've been enjoying recently and they're in no order or anything, I'm just listing whatever comes to mind first. So here's all the things I have enjoyed throughout the month of March.
A product that I have absolutally loved is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in ''On and On Bronze''. It's a cream eye shadow that I like to use as an eye shadow base because it has amazing lasting power. I have really oily eyelids and I can wear this all day and it won't crease which is amazing. Also, it's such an amazing colour that sometimes, if I'm feeling lazy, I just wear it on its own and it still looks lovely. There are so many different colours and they're not expensive which is great. They will last ages, as well because you only need a little bit, they blend really nicely as well so that's good.
Another thing I've fallen in love with recently is the Urban Decay Naked Palette and everybody raves about this palette and I can see why. It has so many different colours and they're all gorgeous and you can make so many different looks with it because all the colours go so well together. It may seem a bit pricey but when you think about it, it has 12 gorgeous colours and they're really good quality so it really is worth the money. It also comes with the Urban Decay Primer Potion which is another product I've been loving. I use this as a base when I'm not using my Colour Tattoo and it keeps all my eye makeup in place throughout the day and it stop my eye shadows creasing, and that's around €19 or something, I'm not to sure exactly how much but I will probably be buying another one when this one runs out because it's so good.
This next product surprised me but I've been obsessed with the L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara which I didn't think I'd like. Everyone who knows me will know that I swear by Maybelline The Falsies Flared, which I still love, but I tried the L'Oreal and it's amazing! I didn't like the look of the wand at first because it's a skinny wand but it combs through every lash and makes them so long. And it's great for bottom lashes, it separates them all but doesn't make them look like spider's legs, which I really like since I have really long bottom lashes.
This next product also surprised me when I started using it. It's the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner to thick sometimes so I thought I'd give gel eyeliner a try and it's so much easier. It stays really well and you can make it as thin or thick as you like. It comes with a little brush which is really easy to use so if you have trouble with liquid eyeliner then I recommend trying gel eyeliner.
A nail varnish I've been really enjoying is the Catrice Cosmetics Ultimate Nail Lacquer and I have 875 ''It's All I Can Blue'' which is a lovely bright blue colour. These nail varnishes are really cheap, you can get them in Pennys/Primark, whatever you call it. They're really good quality as well, it does take a few coats of the polish to get the colour opaque but they last quite well and don't chip easily so I really like them and there's an range of loads of different colours to choose from.
The last beauty product I've been loving is the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 107. I've had this for a while but I've been wearing it a lot lately and I've got quite a few compliments on it. It's a beautiful dark red/pink colour which can be wore as a stain if you apply a small amount and blend it out or you can build up the colour to make it pretty dark. These lipsticks have great staying power and they're not expensive. They also smell amazing and fruity which is nice. It has a matte finish which I really like but it can be easily wore with a gloss over it and it would still look great.
Hair products that I've been loving are the Timotei Vivid Colour Shampoo and Conditioner. I'd never heard of this brand before, I think my mam just got them in Tesco but they are really good. I know shampoo and conditioner are meant to clean your hair but these make my hair feel so incredibly clean. It makes my hair really soft as well and they smell nice which is always good for a shampoo and conditioner.
The next thing I've been loving recently is an album. It's Biffy Clyro's Opposites which is just pure amazing and seeing it live last week makes it even better. It's just such a great album, there's 22 songs on it so I'm sure there's a song for everyone on it, which I think is great.
A movie I really enjoying was Disney's Brave which I only saw recently because it's on Sky Demand. It's just a really good Disney movie and it has a good story but it is Disney so it's very cute, and who doesn't love a Scottish accent?
Anyway, that's all the things I've been enjoying over the past month and hopefully it will introduce you to some new things or products that you will, hopefully, enjoy as much as I have. Thanks for reading :)

Biffy Clyro 28th March 2013

Holy Mary, Mother of God! I went to see Biffy Clyro in the O2 Arena, Dublin on Thursday night and wow, just wow! It's one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life. They were absolutally amazing, they played every song to perfection and the crowd was mental. Like my Slash post (which you can read here) if any word or sentence is highlighted that means if you click the word it will link you to a song, YouTube video, Facebook page, Twitter or to whatever I'm talking about which might give you a better idea of what I'm talking about if you don't already know. So, on with the post.
I went to the concert with my friend Rachel and my dad, and before you're all like "omg you had to go with your dad, that's sad" I didn't have to go with my dad, he likes Biffy Clyro and wanted to go because he's cool, deal with it. He did stand at the back for the whole thing though, while me and Rachel started off in the middle of the crowd and were eventually pushed to the left of the stage, right in front of where the stage came out meaning Simon Neil sang "Biblical" and "God and Satan" about two feet away from us, no big deal! We spent the first half of the concert in the middle of the crowd being battered around, which doesn't sound like much fun but it was actually so amazing. I nearly lost my shoe twice, the second time I just took it off for a minute and was being pushed around with my shoe waving in the air. Then we spent the second half of the concert to the left of the stage, which was more calm but still amazing since we were so close to the stage. They played a lot of songs off the new album, Opposites, but there was a good bit of older things as well. They played my favourite song "Who's Got a Match?" which was amazing, and when they played "Glitter and Trauma" they had strobes and loads of flashing lights and it was just amazing, but I think "That Golden Rule" was the best song of the night! The crowd went mental, so mental that the security had to come into the crowd because there was going to be a massive circle pit where we were and they were pulling people into the circle trying to fill it, which was kinda bad but it didn't stop us all going mad! Overall, they were amazing! All the production was deadly, they had a giant rib cage thing on stage which looked great and they had loads of lights and air cannons which, I think, always makes a concert more exciting. I'm still amazed at how good it was. They are definitely a band I would go to see again, they were just so good!
As for what I was wearing, I just wore a pair of high waisted, denim shorts that I'm constantly borrowing from my sister, my Iron Maiden t-shirt, a jumper from www.becomeantique.com which I love to bits and a pair of Aztec print Converse which I nearly lost one of, haha. Makeup wise, I just wore my normal face stuff and I used my new Urban Decay Naked Palette for my eyes which I've complete fallen in love with and I wore my Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 which I also love to bits.
So that's the last of my concerts until May, when I go to see Enter Shikari which I'm really looking forward to. And if Biffy Clyro are playing a concert near you, I highly recommend that you go, even just for the experience because they are such an amazing live band. I did take a few pictures but they're not very good, I posted the best one on my Instagram which is catrionameatsix if you wanted to check it out and I have Twitter, Tumblr and Pinterest  if you want to check those out, there's also links to them all on the side of my blog. And as I've said before, I'd like to thank everyone who's taken the time to read my blog or who's given me feedback on my posts even if it's just liking my Facebook status, it really means so much to me when people comment on my writing so thank you all so much. Anyway, thanks for reading :)

Final Night of Sin!

Bonjour! Today I finally got time to sit and watch my Final Night of Sin DVD which, for those who don't know, is a live DVD of You Me at Six performing to a sold out Wembley Arena, no big deal! In this post I'm going to review the DVD and it is a very biased opinion because YMAS are my favourite band off all time, ever!
Before I get into the review I just want to try to explain how much this band means to me. I first fell in love with You Me at Six in the Summer of 2009, their song "Jealous Minds Think Alike" came on Scuzz and it was love at first sight. I listened to them over and over again and when I went into 1st Year whenever I had to say something about myself I'd say "I love You Me at Six". I've seen them live 4 times, the first time was when they supported Paramore in December 2009. I also saw them on the 28th of March 2010 which is the day I met them because I won a meet and greet and when I met them I cried, that's how sad I am but I don't even care. I, then, saw them in December 2010 and again in April 2012. I listen to them every day and I'm still not bored of their songs. It's hard to explain how a band can mean so much to someone unless that person feels the same way towards a band or singer or whoever. I do love people and all but with a band it's so different. If you fight with your friends or family, they're not there to help you but music is something that's always there, no matter what. When YMAS announced that Wembley Arena was sold out I was so proud of them, which sounds stupid but I was! They deserve everything they've achieved and I'm not just saying this because I love them, they've worked so hard to get where they are today. I'm not saying that makes them better then people who maybe got lucky with success, like I'm quite fond of One Direction and I'm sure they'd sell out Wembley Arena but they've practically been handed everything they have which is why this is such a big deal for YMAS and their fans. I don't know what to say, I just love them. They mean everything to me and I don't know where I'd be without them.
Now onto the review. I think YMAS performed amazingly at Wembley. Like I've said, I've seen them 4 times so I have a good idea of how amazing they were live but wow, they were did absolutally brilliantly! I have never heard Josh's voice sound so good, he sung every note perfectly. All the instruments sounded amazing! They all have so much energy. Dan kept everything perfect on the drums, Max was doing all his little spins and head bangs, Matt was jumping around with so much energy and Chris was amazing with his fabulous hair swishing everywhere. I think all the production and lights and everything just made it! I've seen them play with flashing lights and air cannons but this was so much better and I wasn't even there. I love how they played songs from every album and how they played the slower songs that they might not usually play live like "When We Were Younger". The crowd sang everything so loudly, it sounded great especially "Underdog", I've never heard it so loud but then again I've never heard it from a sold out Wembley Arena. I'm so glad they released the show on DVD for the people, like me, who sadly didn't get to go and I'm just so proud of them.
For those who aren't YMAS fans, I seriously recommend you go and listen to some of their songs, they have so many different styled songs but they're all amazing, there's probably one that you will like. I hope you enjoyed this post, for anyone interested you can pre-order the Final Night of Sin DVD here: http://youmeatsix.co.uk/thefinalnightofsin/home.php and thanks for reading :)

Slash 4th March 2013

Wow! Last night I went to see Slash, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators in the Olympia, Dublin and it was amazing. I got the tickets for Christmas and I was delighted when I found them in my stocking that morning. They played two nights and they were both sold out in no time. In this post I'm not only going to write about his amazing performance, I'm going to be really girly and write about what outfit I wore and what makeup I wore. I'm also going to review his albums "Slash" and "Apocalyptic Love" because they're both brilliant and I haven't posted in ages so this might be a long one. Also, if I start to talk about any songs in particular and you're curious as to what they sound like then if the song title is highlighted or underlined then click on the song title and it will link you to a YouTube video of the song.
Firstly, I'm not going to write about the band that supported because I can't remember their name and I wasn't really paying attention, I was too busy slagging them, haha. I was sitting at this concert, which I know sounds boring but at a Slash concert it really doesn't matter, I was standing anyway. When the lights went down after the crew set up the stage after the first band, the speakers erupted with one of the most beautiful noises I will ever hear. Slash, Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators were on stage, they opened with "Halo" from the album "Apocalyptic Love" which is such a great introduction. I can't remember the whole set list but I can remember most of the songs. They played "Not For Me" and I nearly died, it is my favourite Slash song and it's just so amazing! The played songs from both albums, "Slash" and "Apocalyptic Love", but they also played some Guns N Roses songs and they played "Slither" by Velvet Revolver. They also played "Doctor Alibi", which a local band "The Ladz" do an excellent cover of, but instead of Myles Kennedy singing, Todd Kerns sang because you need a pretty deep voice to sing this song and sing it well. Looking back on it, they played so many songs I'd be here all day talking about each one, they did perform for around 2 hours after all. To sum it up, they were absolutally brilliant and I'm glad to be able to say that I've seen Slash live in concert.
If you're not into clothes and makeup, I suggest you skip to the next paragraph. Since I was going to a concert I wanted to look nice but be comfortable so I just wore red and black jeans, and Guns N Roses t-shirt that I ripped the sleeves off and a grey hoodie with converse. But my makeup is probably more interesting, I just wore my Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, with some Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer and some Rimmel Stay Matte powder as my base. Then for my eyes I got inspiration from a Tanya Burr Beyonce Makeup Tutorial because I got "twinks" and "contrast" Mac eyeshadow for Christmas and instead of using "naked lunch", I used "sin" from the Urban Decay naked palette. I used the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion which is amazing! I have really oily lids and it helps stop my eyeshadows creasing and even after a concert, my eyeshadow was grand. After the prime was set, I just put "sin" all over my lid, then a bit of "twinks" through my crease, then "contrast" on my bottom lash line. I used Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner to line my top lashes and I used my Maybelline The Falsies mascara. I also wore Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 107 which also lasted most of the night and I never topped it up. So that's my outfit and makeup done.
I'm just going to review the albums "Slash" and "Apocalyptic Love" quickly, and if you haven't listened to any of them then I highly recommend that you do, right now! They're both so amazing, but different. "Slash" has so many different artists working and singing on it so there's such a variety of songs. I think each different artist brought a bit of their own style of music to the songs. There are the likes of Fergie, M Shadows, Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Cornell, Lemmy, Kid Rock, Iggy Pop and Myles Kennedy singing on the album. If you like any of those artists, you'll probably like their songs on this album and maybe find out that you like other kinds of music because each song on the album is so different. "Apocalyptic Love" is just such an epic album. I love Myles Kennedy's voice, I think he's such a brilliant singer so I love every single song on this album. There are slow songs but there are also songs that are pure amazing! They're just two amazing albums that I think everyone should check out.
I think that's everything I wanted to cover that is Slash related! If you ever have a chance to go see Slash live, you should go. He puts on such an amazing show and most of the crowd is made up of drunk parents which is always amusing to watch. Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading :)

Tips and Tricks for a Cold

Bonjour. So for the past week I've been dying of a cold and it has inspired me to share what I know on how to survive and try to get rid of the stupidly annoying illness that is the common cold. I get colds quite often, sometimes they're little ones that go away in a few days but they can also be terrible ones that make me feel as if I can't go on with life because I feel so poo. Usually people would say just take something and go to sleep which will help get rid of a cold but if you're like me and can only sleep if it's night or you're tired then this is the post for you.
I don't really like taking medicine unless I feel I really need it and I think everyone will agree that colds affect us worst at night. If I need to take something for a cold I reach for Benylin Day and Night tablets which I have a love/hate relationship with. I find the Day ones are really good and they get rid of that horrible stuffy feeling in your head but I found the Night tablets absolutally terrible! I think they worked for me once and they were amazing but it all went down hill from there. They make you tired which is brilliant because I find falling asleep near impossible when I have a cold, and when you take them you wake up feeling amazing, you don't feel groggy or stuffy, you just feel awake which isn't a feeling you usually get when you have a cold and this all sounds like exactly what you'd want from a tablet when you've got a cold but when you wake up at around 3am feeling amazing and awake, it's not that great. I've had taken them a few times and 90% of the time I've woken up in the middle of the night feeling great making it very hard to fall back asleep. If you have a really bad cold then you should probably take something but I've found the best thing for a cold is a cup of tea. It clears your nose, it helps with a sore throat and if you put as much sugar in it as I do, it makes you feel great and energetic. So before you go to open the medicine press, put on the kettle and see if that helps.
Parents may not be so happy with my next tip but if you're a teenager who is suffering from a terrible cold and you have school, just don't go. Take the day off and stay in your pjs, sit yourself in front of the telly with a warm blanket thrown over you, put on some of your favourite movies and just chill, if you're one of those people who can sleep whenever they please then don't open your eyes unless you need to eat or pee. I'm not saying if you have a bit of a runny nose use that as an excuse to stay home, I mean if your head is pounding and your as stuffed as a turkey, stay home because there's no point in going to school if you're not going to be able to concentrate so you might as well not be there. I would also suggest that if you work with children don't even think about going to work. I've been on work experience for the past three weeks and I was in a primary school and a creche so for the past three weeks all I've had is children sneezing and coughing all over me because they haven't learned that you're suppose to put your hand up to your face if you're going to sneeze or cough and we were trying to teach them this and one boy put his hand to his mouth after he coughed because he just didn't understand which is both kinda cute but disgusting at the same time.
My final and maybe most important point would be buy tissues! Always have a tissue beside you whether it be tissue from a box or some loo roll, just use something. Although if you use toilet roll instead of a proper tissue it dries your nose but I've found if you use moisturizer you'll be alright because I've been using toilet roll all week and my nose is surprisingly not sore, it is a bit dry but it's grand compared to what it's usually like. So keep a tissue near you because there is no worse feeling then being all comfortable and warm, wrapped up in your duvet then having to get up and blow your nose because you didn't have a tissue.
There you go, they are my tips for beating a cold. I hope you enjoyed reading this and you found it somewhat helpful. Again I'd like to thank everyone who has given me feedback on my posts, I really appreciate every bit it means so much to know that people actually read and enjoy my blog. Thanks for reading :)

Work Experience + Beauty Reviews

Bonjour, I've realized I haven't blogged in a while and as you can tell from the title I have a few things to blog about. I've just finished my first week of work experience so I'm going to write about that and I'm also going to do reviews on some beauty products which will hopefully be helpful to some people.
As I said, I just finished my first week of work experience which, for those who don't know, is when our school gives us three weeks to go to work places of our choice and see what jobs we'd be interested in pursuing. My first week was in my old primary school and I'm doing my next two weeks in a creche because I want to work with children. It was so amazing going back to my primary school and it was done so that I got to go to four different classes a day to watch the teacher do their thing and help, if need. Since the younger class need more help, I was in a Senior Infants class (5-6 year olds) in the morning, a split of Junior/Senior Infants (4-6 year olds) after break, 1st Class (6-7 year olds) after lunch then 5th Class (10-11 year olds) from 2 till 3 o'clock. I absolutally loved every minute of it, I got to read with the younger kids and help them with their maths, all that kinda stuff. I've always wanted to work with kids but now I'm positive that it's 100% what I want to do. You need so much patients with them and creativity. I didn't do much when I was in with the 5th class but it was still good, most of the time I was sticking pictures on the wall but they were so funny. They'd make cheeky remarks and the teacher would give out but they'd be hilarious. Being back made me realize how old I am, I'm not saying that I think I'm ancient but the last time I was in the school the 5th class were in 1st class! I remember them all being so small but now there are some that are nearly the height of me!
Working with the younger kids was brilliant, they'd get so excited about the simplest things, for example in the senior infants class they were getting an envelope with pictures that they had to match together and the teacher said "We're going to do something really fun now, you're all going to get an envelope" and they all gasped with excitement over an envelope! But it's not just the kids that amused me, the teachers were pretty funny as well, one was reading his class a story and he was getting so into it, he was putting on voices and singing all funny which got all the kids interested and I just found it so funny. There is also the more boring side to it like photocopying loads of pages loads of times and then cutting up lots of words and putting them all into the kids folders but I didn't mind doing that. The thing I found most fun was when I was helping the junior/senior infants paint. They were doing patterns using paint and sponges but they didn't have enough sponges for the whole class so there was one table painting and when one person was finished, another would come, paint and so on and so forth. I got paint on my shoes and in my hair, and because they were using sponges all the paint was absorbed by the sponges in minutes so I was running back and forth with different coloured paint to refill the bowls as children were handing me their wet paintings and sponges full of paint were being dropped everywhere. I would have loved to do another week there, I enjoyed it so much and it's defiantly something I'd love to do when I'm older.
When on work experience I wore makeup everyday so I really got to test my product's will power over the week. I use the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation which I've been using for a while and I think it's pretty good, it gives a good coverage and a dewy finish which I don't really like so I use my Rimmel London Stay Matte powder over it which I love, it just mattes everything, it stays really well and it smells quite nice. Today I used my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in ''On and On Bronze'' which is really good. I have oily eyelids so things usually crease easily but this didn't which is amazing and it's a really nice colour and there were a good few different colours so I may be buying a few more.
During the week I was always so tired after the day and being a lazy teenager I hate taking off my makeup but it has to be done and done properly. Girls always say they do take off their makeup but they still might not have the best skin and that might be because they're not taking it off properly. I use to just wipe it off with a baby wipe which I knew was wrong so I looked on YouTube for quick ways to get my makeup off but the products they use are sometimes quite expensive so I started using the Boots Essentials Cucumber Range which are cheap, they do the job and they smell nice, and they also do a fragrance free range. I start by using the Moisturising Lotion to take off my foundation, I just massage it into my skin using my hands for a few minutes then I wash it all off with warm water and a facecloth, it makes my skin feel so clean and it's way better for your skin then a baby wipe. I then use the Eye Make-Up Remover Gel which I put on a cotton pad and leave it on my eyes for a minute, it just loosens everything and makes it so easy to wipe away and it doesn't sting or anything. When I have all that done I use the Facial Toner, I just pour some onto a cotton pad and gently wipe it over my face, it just gets rid off all the makeup that gets left deep in the skin, I feel it's so important to use toner because even if you've scrubbed your face with a cloth, if there's dirt left in your pores you'll get spots. I've also started using the Moisturising Cream because I didn't moisturise and people are always saying you have to do it but I think it depends on the person and their skin. I have combination skin which means it's oily and dry so I only moisturise once every two days and I only use a tiny bit only on the center of my face because I don't need it anywhere else. If I use to much my skin gets oily but if I don't use it my skin gets dry, so I think everyone should decide themselves on how much mosturiser they need, I do think everyone needs to moisturise though even if you have oily skin, they do make moisturisers for oily skin so there's no excuse!
Woah, that post was longer then I was expecting but that should be enough to make up for the fact I haven't blogged in a while. I'd also like to say I'm not saying that if you take off your makeup properly you'll have flawless skin but it might help, I don't have anything near perfect skin but it's manageable. I really hope you enjoyed this post and that the reviews were helpful to some people and I'd also like to wish everyone doing work experience the very best. Thanks for reading :)
This is a drawing I got from a girl who called me ''Pretty Triona" for the whole week, cutie

Nananananananana Batman!

Hello, so this year for Christmas I got The Dark Knight Rises from Santa and it inspired me to write this blog post. Batman is my favourite superhero and The Dark Knight is my all time favourite movie. I think I've seen all of the Batman movies and Christian Bale is my favourite actor to play Batman. I think the thing I love about Batman is that he is human and that's all there is. Most other superheros look like humans but have some kind of power but Batman just has money and gadgets, and I know Iron Man is only human as well but he has a super suit and he uses guns when Batman doesn't. Since I've seen all or most of the Batman movies I have a lot to talk about.
My favourite of the Batmans are the Christian Bale trilogy because he brings a darkness to the character, and in these movies it really builds a character. The first of the trilogy, Batman Begins, focuses on creating Batman and explaining why he became Batman and it went into Bruce Wayne's past. No other movie explains and creates the Batman character as much as this trilogy. The creators did a great job in making a great beginning, middle and end to Batman in the trilogy. The Dark Knight is my favourite movie because I absolutally love the Joker, he's my favourite villain of all time and Heath Ledger did an amazing job with this character and it was a tragedy to lose such an amazing actor who was so young. I love a villain who is absolutally mental but in this movie it really focuses on how some people don't have a reason to be bad, they just do it for the fun. The Dark Knight, again, just builds a story line for the Batman movies. Then the Dark Knight Rises is probably the best ending to the movie trilogy that any Batman fan could have asked for, it's thrilling, it's fast and a little scary because, to be honest, Bane is sort of terrifying, but again he is a great villain and Tom Hardy was the best actor for the job. And I love the idea as a police man being a hero as well because it supports my idea of Batman being only human, and I think the Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a great person to play the sidekick, his character was so caring and he help so much with saving everyone. Also Anne Hathaway is amazing in it, she plays Catwoman so well, she's sly, she's beautiful and she's highly skilled and just badass!
I'm almost certain that the first Batman film ever made was Batman (1966) which I've seen and it is ridiculous, the acting is terrible and you could tell it was all fake and I know it was 1966 but they could have done better. Then there were the two Michael Keaton Batman movies, Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. I know Michael Keaton is an amazing actor but I just didn't think he was a very good person to play Batman, I just wasn't feeling it for him. Although, I think Jack Nicholson was an amazing person to play the Joker in Batman (1989). He brought everything I liked to the character but I just think Heath Ledger made the Joker character more modern and evil. The second of the Keaton Batman movies, Batman Returns, had Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman and she was amazing. Like Anne Hathaway she was sly and skill and she looked amazing. It also had Danny DeVito as the Penguin and this character scared the hell out of me, he's so creepy looking and just pure weird.
There was then two other Batman movies, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, which are a sequel but with Val Kilmer playing Batman in Batman Forever and George Clooney playing him in Batman and Robin. Jim Carrey plays the Riddler in Batman Forever and he does a really good job at playing a villain but again, I'm not sure in the choice of actor to play Batman. I think, personally, that Batman and Robin is a good movie but when it came out it got a lot of bad press saying it was one of the worst movies ever. I think it just takes a different approach at the Batman character, it doesn't talk about his dark past and I think there had to be one movie that we didn't feel bad for him the whole way through. The villains in this movie are Poison Ivy played by Uma Thurman and Mr. Freeze played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. I wasn't to fond of Mr. Freeze, although I do wonder how long it took for Arnold Schwarzenegger to get ready, but I did love Poison Ivy. I think I just liked her hair and her makeup but Uma Thurman was amazing in it and looked stunning the whole way through the movie.
Woah, that was longer then I was expecting but that is my blog post on Batman finished. This post was about eight movie reviews in one! If there is one of the movies that I mentioned that you haven't seen I do recommend that you watch it. Thanks for reading :)
